New Delhi: Wayne Rooney has recovered from a side injury and should start Manchester United's Champions League first leg semi-final on Wednesday night against Barcelona.
Rooney is expected to play as a lone striker, supported by the roaming Cristiano Ronaldo for the fixture at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard is expected to take a risk by starting star man Lionel Messi, who returned from injury in a cameo performance against Espanyol on Saturday.
"I think that we are at a much stronger position this year in terms of energy of the team and the player availability. Last year we were playing the same players all the time. So hopefully that makes a lot of difference to us," United manager Alex Ferguson said ahead of the fixture against the Catalan giants.
