Exclusive | Katrina Kaif on Doing an Action Film with Vicky Kaushal: 'It Will Be Interesting...'
Katrina Kaif opened up about the possiblities of working with her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal.

Katrina Kaif is currently basking in the success of Tiger 3. The film is directed by Maneesh Sharma and it also features Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi. The YRF movie has already crossed the Rs 200 crore mark and Katrina’s performance, especially her action scenes, has got a thumbs up. As News18 sat down for an exclusive chat with the actor, we asked her about being pitted against her husband Vicky Kaushal in an action film.

Katrina seemed excited about the idea. “It will be interesting to pair with him (in an action film). His character Vihaan Shergill from Uri: The Surgical Strike against Zoya from the Tiger franchise is going to be fun and will have to see how it works out (smiles). I always say that it will be very exciting to do something with him on screen,” she said.

“Vicky is a phenomenal performer and I think everyone feels that way because of the kind of regard they have for him as an actor. His dedication towards his craft is what makes him so good in front of the screen,” she added.

Speaking about the action sequences in Tiger 3, especially the towel fight inside a Hammam in Istanbul, Katrina said that it was one of the toughest sequences she has shot in her career. “I don’t think there has been a fight sequence like this featuring two women on screen in India. The credit goes to Adi (Producer Aditya Chopra) for thinking of this brilliant scene. It was a very difficult sequence to shoot because it has incredible hand-to-hand fighting inside a steamy Hammam room so gripping, fending, landing the punches and the kicks, everything was very difficult. For me, this is one of the best action sequences I have ever seen women do on screen,” she said.

The actor also reveals that she had to go through intense and rigorous training to shoot for the action pieces in the film. “Tiger is a franchise that is close to my heart. It’s about pushing my limits, testing my endurance, and finding that strength within. The action training in this film was the toughest for all of us. We wanted to take it to a new level. It’s a different type of action. The way Maneesh and the action team executed it was just incredible — everything was detailed. So, it was a total team effort which people love. Also, I am the kind of a person who strives very hard until I get it right, and looking at the reactions that we are getting, it has come out beautiful on screen,” she concluded.
