Boney Kapoor opened up about Arjun Kapoor and Salman Khan’s fallout in an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha. The producer, who is also Arjun’s father, confirmed that their relationship is strained even today. However, their fall out has not affected Boney’s equation with Salman. The filmmaker, who is preparing for the release of Maidaan, was speaking about Arjun’s acting career when he mentioned his and Salman’s strained relationship.
“I may have separated from Mona (Kapoor, his first wife) but it was never in my mind that Arjun wants to become an actor. It was Salman who called me up and said that, ‘Boney sir, he will become an actor. He has it in him.’ He took it upon himself to see that he becomes an actor,” Boney recalled.
“He made his lose weight. I would give credit to Salman where Arjun is concerned. Whatever said and done, today their equation might not be that good but he gave him his best (with regard to) Arjun. His growth was influenced by Salman,” the filmmaker added.
Asked if their relationship impacted his relationship with Salman, Boney explained, “(Their fall out) has not altered my equation with Salman. I still love him, I still feel that there are very few like him, big hearted, warm hearted, whenever we meet, we meet with love. There is a lot of respect that he gives me and I love him.”
Arjun Kapoor is currently dating Malaika Arora, who was previously married to Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz Khan. Arjun and Malika have been together for about five years now. Malaika also shares a son with Arbaaz. For the unversed, Arjun was once reportedly in a relationship with Salman’s younger sister Arpita Khan. They apparently broke up in 2005. Arpita is now married to actor Aayush Sharma and the couple has two kids together.
