Bipasha Basu Singh Grover was last seen on the big screen eight years ago when she starred in the horror film Alone (2015) alongside Karan Singh Grover. It marked his debut and it was on the sets of this film that the duo met for the first time and fell in love. A year later, they tied the knot. The couple went on to headline a web show titled Dangerous in 2020. After that, Karan went on to play the lead in Qubool Hai 2.0 (2021) but Bipasha stayed away from the screen.
A mother now, Bipasha is now gearing up for her comeback. During an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, she dropped some big hint about wanting to face the camera all over again. “My daughter has finally been pushing me out of the house and making me do events. I’ve pretty much been giving excuses saying I need some more time before returning to work. But I do love to act,” she told us.
Bipasha welcomed a baby girl, Devi, in November last year and it seems like pregnancy and motherhood duties in the last couple of months kept her busy. With her daughter about to turn a year old soon, the Dum Maro Dum (2011) and Humshakals (2014) actor is now ready to go back to pursuing her passion. “I’m going to get back to it very soon. I think my daughter’s going to allow me to do it. I’ve to still learn the balance between work and baby. I’m still in the process of learning that,” she further added.
On the personal front, Bipasha gave birth to her daughter seven years after her marriage and had a rather tough few weeks following the same. A while back, she revealed in an Instagram live session with Neha Dhupia that she conceived Devi through IVF and learnt three days after her birth that she had two holes in her heart. After being diagnosed with ventricular septal defect, Devi had to undergo an open-heart surgery.
Bipasha also revealed that her journey towards pregnancy wasn’t a cakewalk either and so, when she found out that she’s going to be a mother, she couldn’t believe it. “When I found out that I’m pregnant, I was shocked. I was trying to have a baby for some time. It took me sometime to even cry. I can’t even explain it in words about how I felt when I saw her for the first time. The moment was inexplicable. Thank god, there’s a video of it. It was an amazing moment, nothing can be better than that ever,” Bipasha recalled.
Talking about how she and Karan are still discovering new things in their parental journey, she remarked, “There’s something new every day. You get to see a tiny human being growing up in front of you and that’s so exciting. We’re experiencing so many firsts!”
