The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has rolled out a detailed application form (DAF) for the Combined Geo-Scientist interview exam. Those interested can fill out the DAF form through the official website of UPSC — upsc.gov.in. It is to be noted that the last date to fill out the form is September 25. To access the application form, candidates need to log in using their email ID/ Mobile Number/ OTR ID.
Meanwhile, the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Main exam was administered by the commission on June 22 and June 23, 2024. The results of the Main exam were announced on August 15.
Under the recruitment drive, the Union Public Service Commission aims to fill up a total of 56 vacancies in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines and Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Jal Shakti, and Department of Water Resources through nationwide examinations.
UPSC Geo-Scientist Main 2024: How to Fill the DAF?
Step 1: Candidates need to go to the official website of the Union Public Service Commission at upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in to fill out the form.
Step 2: In the next step, visit the ‘What’s new section’ on the homepage.
Step 3: Then, search for and click on the ‘Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination, 2024’ link.
Step 4: Select the DAF link, log in using the email ID/Mobile Number/ OTR ID, and proceed with the application form.
Step 5: Fill out all the required details, such as personal and academic information.
Step 6: Check all the details carefully and hit submit.
Step 7: Save a copy of the application form and print a hard copy of the same for future reference.
UPSC CGS 2024: Selection Process
Candidates will have to undergo a four-tiered selection process to get selection for the above-mentioned vacancies. The selection process includes a preliminary examination, a Main examination, final document verification, and an interview round.
Those who successfully qualify for the mains exam are required to fill up the Detailed Application Form. Then, applicants will be called for the interview, the schedule of which will be published in due course of time on the commission’s website.
“The instructions for filling up DAF available on the website along with the Rules of the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination-2024 must be read carefully about the original certificates that are to be produced at the time of the Interview. The candidate will be solely responsible for not producing sufficient valid proof in support of his/her age, date of birth, educational qualifications, caste (SC/ST/OBC), EWS and physical disability status. The qualified candidates must bring all the original certificates during the Interview/Personality Test for verification,” the commission said in an official notification.
