UPPSC RO, ARO Paper Leak: Mains Exam To Be Postponed? What We Know
The postponement of the UPPCS 2024 prelims exam was done to avoid the risk of rigging in the examination.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) recently cancelled the examination for the recruitment of Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO), after a paper leak was discovered. Following this, the preliminary examination for UPPCS 2024 was postponed, initially scheduled to be held on March 17. In light of the mentioned cancellations and postponement, the reports state there is a possibility that another important examination could get cancelled, which is the main examination of UPPCS 2024.

The postponement of the UPPCS 2024 prelims exam was done to avoid the risk of rigging in the examination. Now, as per the latest reports, the prelims could be scheduled for July 28. Since the prelims are now expected to be held in July, the reports are saying that the main examination could also get postponed, and claim further that it is going to be a challenging task for the organisers to schedule it in the months of September and October. It could be because the commission releases the answer key and final results of the prelims in around two months.

Months ago, the commission released an official calendar for the examinations scheduled to take place in 2024; but as the PCS examination was unexpectedly postponed, it could mean that the calendar is of no use at the moment. They are yet to announce the new dates for the cancelled, and postponed examinations.

As per an earlier report, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured sharing a tweet on X, that the examination for UPPSC recruitment will be organised in the next six months. He vowed to catch the culprits involved in the paper leak. The CM was quoted as saying on X, “The culprits of the youth will be given such punishment which will set an example.”

The recruitment examination for RO and ARO was held on February 11, which was organised by UPPSC. It is done in three stages: prelims, mains exam, and a skill test.
