Uttar Pradesh’s Happy Singh made his dream come true. He became a flying officer in the Indian Air Force. On June 15, 235 flight cadets, including 22 women officers, were commissioned as officers in various branches of the IAF. The ceremony was held at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad. Happy Singh is a resident of Bijnor. The occasion was marked by the presence of his family members. Flying Officer Happy Singh secured the first position in the overall merit order in the Pilot Course. For this excellent performance, he was awarded the President’s Plaque and the Chief of the Air Staff Sword of Honour. Happy Singh, the son of a farmer, comes from a very simple family. He is the first member of his family to become an officer in the Air Force.
Happy Singh said that he made several attempts to join the NDA but failed. Despite this, he did not give up on his goal. After graduation, he passed the UPSC CDS exam and joined the Indian Air Force. His brother-in-law is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army. He wanted Happy to join the Army, but later his interest changed.
Anothery UP man also secured a job in the air force. Taufiq Raza is from Jhansi. Flying Officer Taufiq Raza secured the first position in the Ground Duty Officers Course. He was awarded the President’s Plaque for securing the first position.
Taufiq Raza is the second generation of his family to become an officer in the Air Force. His father is also an officer in the Air Force. Taufiq is originally from Jhansi. Currently, his family is settled in Bangalore. Taufiq Raza, a former cadet of the National Defense Academy, also bagged the Chief of Air Staff Trophy by securing first place in overall merit in the administration branch of the 213 course.
