Pune Zilla Parishad Closes 13 Unauthorised Schools, Case Filed Against 10
The primary education officer of Pune Zilla Parishad said that police complaints have been filed against 10 of the 13 unauthorised schools

The Pune Zilla Parishad has ordered the closure of 13 unauthorised schools last week. Sanjay Naikade, primary education officer, Pune Zilla Parishad said that police complaints have been filed against 10 of the 13 unauthorised schools and cases against the remaining will be filed soon, reported Hindustan Times.

According to the list by the Zilla Parishad, the schools include:

— Kidgerjee School, Daund,

— Jijau Education Society Abhang Shishu Vikas Kasurdi, Daund,

— Yashshree English Medium School Sonavadi, Daund,

— Bhairavanath English Medium School, Moi,

— Sanskriti International School, Ambegaon Khurd,

— Smt Sulochanatai Zende Child Development Temple and Primary School, Kunjeerwadi,

— Rivstone English Medium School, Parne Phata,

— Sonai English Medium School, Fursungi,

— Shreyan International School, Maval,

— Venkeshwara World School, Maval,

— Mount Everest English School, Kasarwadi

— Shri Chaitanya English Medium School Vishalnagar, Pimple Nilakh

— Care Foundation Pune Run Emmanuel Public School, Hadapsar.

The Pune Zilla Parishad had earlier released a list of 49 unauthorised schools of which five were later approved, three had received a letter of intent from the government, four of the schools filed a petition in court while two paid fines, the news agency reported.

Meanwhile, schools in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and nearby areas will remain shut today, July 25, due to heavy rains. An order by collector Suhas Diwase ordered the closure of schools for today because of incessant rains in the region as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a red alert. The order to shut schools also applies to Bhor, Velhe, Maval Mulshi, and Khadakwasla.

According to the IMD’s forecast, heavy to intense rain is expected in Pune and surrounding areas for the next few hours. Mumbai will also see moderate to heavy rain (yellow alert) on Thursday and throughout Wednesday evening. A red alert (extremely heavy rain) has been issued for central Maharashtra till July 25.
