IIT Ropar Invites Applications For Summer Internships 2024; Apply Before March 24

Applications are now open for the summer internship programmes at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar (IIT Ropar). These internships are offered across various departments of the institute. Interested candidates can apply in different departments separately through the official website iitrpr.ac.in. The deadline to register for the internship is March 24.

During the registration process for the offline internship, candidates will need to select their preferred department. The summer internships at IIT Ropar will last for five to eight weeks. It starts on May 15 and ends on July 15.

Candidates are required to select a research supervisor relevant to their field of study or course. While applicants can select up to three research supervisors in the application form, they must complete their internship within a single department under one supervisor. Students will have the opportunity to select the departments for their internships. The departments providing summer internship opportunities are:

Biomedical Engineering

Center for Applied Research in Data Sciences

Chemical Engineering

Chemistry

Civil Engineering

Computer Science and Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Humanities and Social Sciences

Mathematics

Mechanical Engineering

Metallurgical & Materials Engineering

Physics

The departments at IIT Ropar will set criteria for selection and create a merit list according to the required number of interns.

Hostel accommodation will be offered to interns on a sharing basis, subject to availability. But charges will be levied for this accommodation. If interns wish to apply for hostel accommodation after being selected for the internship, they must submit their application to the Dean of Student Affairs through their faculty supervisor and the Head of Department for approval.

Students are responsible for covering the expenses of meals and other additional amenities. Financial assistance will not be provided to candidates.

Candidates must also submit a hard copy of the application form, along with the necessary documents signed by the candidate, to the respective departments of the Institute. Candidates are required to settle the accommodation and mess charges in advance for the entire duration of their stay at Transit Campus-I.
