The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has announced the results of the IIT JAM 2024 today, March 20. Candidates who appeared for the exam can visit the official website, jam.iitm.ac.in, to check their scores. The institute has also released the Master Question Papers and Final Answer Keys of the exam.
As per the marking scheme, there is no negative marking in any of the sections for unattempted questions. In Section-A (MCQ), a wrong answer will result in negative marks. For each wrong answer to one-mark questions, one-third marks will be deducted and for each wrong answer to two-mark questions, two-thirds marks will be deducted. In Section B (MSQ), there are no negative and no partial marking provisions. There is no negative marking in Section-C (NAT) as well, the official notice states.
IIT JAM 2024: Steps to Check Result
Step 1- Go to the official website of IIT JAM at jam.iitm.ac.in.
Step 2- On the homepage, locate the IIT JAM 2024 result link.
Step 3- Enter the required login details and click on submit.
Step 4- The result will appear on the screen.
Step 5- Download and take a printout for future purposes.
The IIT JAM 2024 was conducted on February 11 in two shifts — from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The exam was held for three hours in English medium. There was a total of 60 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The entire paper was divided into three sections — A, B and C. All sections were compulsory.
JAM 2024 was held for seven subjects. The test papers included Mathematics (MA), Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). English is the language of the medium for all test papers. Candidates who have finished an undergraduate degree or are currently enrolled in the final year of the undergraduate programme are eligible to apply for the IIT JAM 2024 session.
