The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Roorkee, is slated to commence the registration window for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 test today, August 28. To prevent a last-minute rush, interested applicants should register as soon as possible and submit their applications to the official website gate2025.iitr.ac. The GATE 2025 will be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, with two shifts on all test days.

Enrolment will begin today and end on September 26, in accordance with the GATE 2025 timeline. Candidates, however, can apply until October 7 by paying the late fee. First set to start on August 24, the application procedure was subsequently rescheduled.

Applicants for GATE 2025 may be students enrolled in third-year undergraduate programmes or above, or they may be graduates of any government-approved degree programmes in engineering, technology, architecture, science, business, the arts, or humanities.

GATE 2025: How to Register

Step 1: Visit the GATE official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

Step 2: Go to the GATE 2025 registration page from the homepage.

Step 3: Enter the needed information and submit it.

Step 4: Fill out the application after logging into your account.

Step 5: Submit relevant documents and credentials and pay the exam fee.

Step 6: Verify the information on the form and submit it.

Step 7: Print out the GATE 2024 application form for your records going forward.

To register for GATE 2025, candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 1800. The registration fee for the exam would be Rs 2300 is applications are sent beyond the deadline. Female, SC, ST, and PWD applicants must pay an exam fee of Rs 900, which would rise to Rs 1400 from September 26.

The GATE 2025 exam will be administered using computer-based testing (CBT) for a duration of three hours. As per the official announcement, applicants are limited to two exam papers and would have to select from a list of 30 disciplines. The official website provides a list from which the two test paper combinations must be selected.

The nationwide test known as the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is administered to assess candidates for employment with specific public sector companies as well as admission to master’s and doctorate programs in engineering, technology, science, architecture, and the humanities.
