Team India’s preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 are in full swing. The official Instagram handle of the team shared a prep-time video.
The video begins with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma showcasing their batting prowess in the nets. They faced off against the squad’s star pacers including Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Spinners including Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh also chimed in on the action.
Some players could be seen doing some catch practices in New York’s sun. In the post’s caption, the Indian cricket team wrote – “Raring to go. Inching closer to Team India’s opening clash of the T20 World Cup against Ireland.”

Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma looked poised during the training. The batting duo performed a variety of different shots in the nets suggesting great form. Other players including the likes of Hardik Panda and Arshdeep Singh were also spotted in the video.
Fans have now reacted to the Instagram clip and wished the team the very best for their T20 World Cup campaign. One of them wrote, “All the best Team India.”
Another said, “Go India! Play with passion, power, and pride – bring the trophy home!”
One joked how he would take a leave from work just to watch his favourite team practice. “I would call in sick for work just to watch the practice, let’s go,” he said.
A netizen reminded the fans that it would be India head coach Rahul Dravid’s last tournament. “All the best team India, wish all of them to win the World Cup for our country and Rahul Dravid a last World Cup coaching.”

India’s ICC T20 World Cup campaign begins on June 5 at the Nassau Country International Cricket Stadium in New York. They will be squaring off against a Paul Stirling-led Ireland side.
The Men in Blue arrived in the United States towards the end of May to prepare themselves for a warm-up match ahead of the World Cup. India squared off against Bangladesh on June 1 to generate some early momentum ahead of the World Cup. They won the match by 60 runs and will now be looking to make a statement in the ICC tournament.
India have been drawn in Group A of the T20 World Cup 2024. They will be competing against the likes of Pakistan, Ireland, the USA and Canada in the group stage. After facing Ireland, the Men in Blue will square off against their arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9 in New York.
