CSK captain, MS Dhoni was seen taking the bat once again in the practice session at Chepauk ahead of IPL 2024.

The legendary MS Dhoni was seen taking the bat once again as the Chennai Super Kings’s skipper took part in the practice session at Chepauk on Thursday.

The video shows Dhoni in his vintage long-hair look and in training attire as he took two bats for what seems to be a practice session. The star man had picked up a knee injury in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League.

Despite the injury, MSD went on to lead the side to their fifth title. This now makes him the most successful captain in the tournament’s history.

Despite doubts regarding his availability for the upcoming season, the 42-year-old underwent surgery in Mumbai and has made his recovery.

However, it remains unclear when the captain will call time on his IPL career. He had earlier hinted that he wanted to bring down the curtains in yellow in a special manner. However, it is not certain as to what he has planned.

Looking at IPL 2024. CSK will look to retain their crown and get their hands on another title. This time they have bolstered their batting unit with Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra being bought in the recently concluded auctions.

The side has suffered a major setback as reports have surfaced which claim that the opening batter, Devon Conway is set to undergo surgery for his thumb which he injured during the T20I series last month.

However, the Kiwi star, Ravindra has shown the ability to play up top and could slot in with Ruturaj Gaikwad as the opening pair for the season. The Kiwi youngster lit up the ODI World Cup 2023 in India where he went on to score 578 runs to make a statement.

Dhoni on the other hand will likely resume his reduced role with the bat which is focused on playing very few deliveries but making the most impact out of it. In the 16 games he played last season, he scored only 104 runs but had a strike-rate of 182.46. His intellect however remains unmatched as he continues to be a big threat on the field with his captaincy.
