Virat Kohli's Naagin Dance at Chepauk to Tease Bangladesh Leaves Fans Amused: WATCH
Virt Kohli on Saturday decided to pull it off as he turned towards the crowd and made the gesture which went viral on social media in no time.

Virat Kohli’s return to Test cricket wasn’t happening as expected. The former India captain scored 6 and 17 across innings in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. But he has been an audience charmer and has been keeping the atmosphere lively at Chepauk. He had all the eyes on him when he chose to sweat it out in the nets on day three when Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant were busy assaulting the visitors. Later, when India were defending a mammoth 515-run target, the megastar was seen performing the Naagin Dance, probably to mock the opponents.

The ‘Naagin Dance’ has been the Bangladesh cricket team’s trademark celebration in the past which, at times, has also led to on-field altercations with the opposition. Kohli, on Saturday, decided to pull it off as he turned towards the crowd and made the gesture which went viral on social media in no time.

India on the cusp of victory

India are on the verge of winning the first Test match in Chennai as they needed six Bangladesh wickets going into the fourth day. Earlier on Saturday, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill scored magnificent hundreds as India declared their second innings at 287 for 4, setting Bangladesh a 515-run target. Bad light forced an early stumps on Saturday. By then, Bangladesh reached 158/4 in 37.2 overs and needed an improbable 357 runs to cause an upset win over India.

Gill, after bagging a duck in the first innings, led India’s charge with a fine 119 not out, laced with ten fours and four sixes. Pant, playing in his comeback Test match, made a superb 109 – where he took his time before unleashing his attacking shots in his knock laced with 13 fours and four sixes.

The duo shared an enterprising 167-run stand for the fourth wicket to demoralise the Bangladeshi bowlers. The main interest in the second session was always going to be about when India would declare its innings.
