Mayank Agarwal Discharged From Hospital, Flies Back to Bengaluru After Health Scare - WATCH
Mayank Agarwal refrained from speaking to the media after getting discharged as he flew back to Bengaluru.

Mayank Agarwal has been discharged from the ILS Hospital Agartala a day after he was admitted for experiencing oral irritation and swelling on his lips. Agarwal was Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after falling ill just before his New Delhi-bound flight was about to take off.

While he has been discharged from the hospital, the Karnataka coach spoke to media and said whatever happened is past as he didn’t talk much about the incident.

“We thought Mayank would take 2 to 3 days to recover. He got released within 24 hours. Whatever happened is past. I don’t want to talk about it now. The care in Tripura was wonderful, ” Karnataka Coach.

Meanwhile, Mayank refrained from speaking to the media after getting discharged as he flew back to Bengaluru.

Agarwal drank a liquid from a pouch which was kept on his flight seat as he thought it was water.

Karnataka skipper Agarwal has lodged a formal complaint with the police through his manager.

“Mayank Agarwal, an international cricket player. Now he is stable and his vitals are normal. But his manager has lodged a specific complaint under NCCPS (New Capital Complex Police Station) to investigate the matter,” SP West Tripura Kiran Kumar told PTI here.

Asked about details, the top cop also said: “His manager said that when he was sitting in the aeroplane, there was a pouch in front of him. He drank a little bit not much but suddenly there was irritation in his mouth and suddenly he couldn’t talk also and was brought to ILS hospital. He had swelling and ulcers in the mouth. Otherwise his vitals are stable.”

Agarwal, who scored 51 and 17 in the last game, was supposed to travel with the whole team to Surat via Delhi, when the incident happened. Karnataka are playing Railways in Surat in their next match.

Agarwal recently led Karnataka to a 29-run win against Tripura in the fourth round of Ranji Trophy 2024 at Bir Bikram Stadium in Agartala. He was supposed to travel with the whole team to Surat when the incident happened. Karnataka will be taking on Railways in their next fixture at Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, , starting Friday.
