IND vs NZ, 1st Test: Five Indian Batters Register Ducks as Kiwis Bundle India Out for 46 Runs
Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin were all sent back to the hut without getting off the mark as the touring Kiwis bundled out the Indian first innings before the hosts could reach the 50-run mark.

Team India were bundled out for a paltry score of 46 runs in the first innings of the opening Test against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday.

The first day of the Test was washed out due to inclement weather conditions, but the touring Kiwis hit hard on Day 2 of the game to bundle out the hosts for 46 runs.

Appallingly as many as five Indian batters were sent back to the dugout by the NZ bowling attack without getting off the mark.

India won the toss and opted to have a bat first against the visitors as skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings.

The captain was the first to fall as Tim Southee cleaned out Rohit for just 2 runs. Star batter Virat Kohli, who came in to replace the scalped captain could not last long at the crease either and became the first man on the day to register a duck as Will O’Rourke dismissed the 35-year-old.

Matt Henry sent Sarfaraz Khan back to the hut for a duck before Jaiswal’s inning came to an end for 13 runs as O’Rourkee struck again.

KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin lost their wickets in a cluster as all three veterans fell for a duck too as O’Rourkee scalped the wicketkeeper-batter and Henry added two more to his tally by dismissing the Indian all-rounders.

Rishabh Pant, who top-scored with 20 runs fell to Henry, before Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav were dismissed for 1 run and 2 runs respectively as India were bundled out before reaching the 50-run landmark.

The Kiwi openers put up a 67-run stand for the first wicket to take the lead against the Indian unit, before Tom Latham fell to Kuldeep for 15 runs. Devon Conway went on to add a half-century.
