The 31-year-old’s last game for Pakistan was at the Asian Games in Hangzhou last year.
“From unforgettable victories to the challenges we faced together, each moment has shaped my career and enriched my life. I’m deeply appreciative of the passionate fans who have always stood by me; your unwavering support has meant the world,” Usman wrote.
“As I step into this new chapter, I will be continuing my dad’s legacy, embracing both my love for cricket and the lessons he instilled in me. I carry with me the spirit of Pakistan cricket and the cherished memories we created together. Thank you for everything,” he added.
Usman recently played in the Champions Cup – a domestic one-day competition – for Dolphins where he took four wickets in two matches.
Earlier this year in May, Pakistan media reported Usman as claiming that former Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez was against his inclusion in the national setup.
Usman also said that the then Pakistan T20I captain Shaheen Afridi had assured him of a spot in the national setup for the New Zealand series in January should he impress in domestic cricket. However, he wasn’t picked in the squad.
