In that match, a solid 40-ball 70 from Quinton de Kock made all the difference as South Africa won by 18 runs. The Proteas next got the better of England, beating the defending champions by 7 runs. De Kock once again stepped up a stellar 65-run knock to clinch a win. Finally, Aiden Markram led his side to their final Super Eight victory over the West Indies in their third Super Eight game. After some interruption from rainfall in Antigua, Tabraiz Shamsi came in clutch for The Proteas with four wickets, sealing a three-wicket win.
Semi-Final
Nothing changed in the semis, as South Africa continued their winning run and this time tore through Afghanistan to book their spot in the T20 World Cup final. Electing to bowl first, South Africa had a field day with Tabraiz Shamsi and Marco Jansen notching three wickets each. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje also chimed in on the action to combine for the remaining four wickets. Having curbed Afghanistan at 56, the batting duo of Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram completed the chase within a mere nine overs.
