Kingfisher independent director quits board
Ganguly's resignation comes within a week of Vijay Amritraj resigning from the board of the air carrier.

Mumbai: Anil Kumar Ganguly, the only remaining independent director on the board of struggling air carrier Kingfisher Airlines, has quit the company citing poor health condition.

"Anil Kumar Ganguly has, because of indifferent health for the past few months which is preventing him from attending normal activities, resigned from the Board of Directors of the Company and his resignation has been accepted with effect from March 17, 2012," Kingfisher Airlines said in filing to BSE.

His resignation comes within a week of Vijay Amritraj resigning from the board of the beleaguered air carrier.

Now, the company will be left with just three board members, none of which is independent director.

Another board member, Diwan Arun Nanda, had quit late last year citing personal reasons.

Kingfisher Airlines has a debt of Rs 7,057.08 crore and the financial crunch has hit its operations with dozens of flights being cancelled regularly.
