New Delhi: UB Chief Vijay Mallya has said that Kingfisher Airlines could merger into Air Deccan.
The consulting firm Accenture — hired to look into potential synergies between the two airlines — presented its report at a meeting on Wednesday and according to sources, the consultants favour a merger between the two airlines.
Deccan Managing Director, G R Gopinath said Accenture had presented a comprehensive report at the meeting in which Vijay Mallya was also present.
He however, declined to comment on the outcome of the meeting and said that a final decision would be taken only after the meeting of the Board of Directors of Air Deccan.
The Mallya-led UB Group is a majority shareholder in Air Deccan with a 46 per cent holding.
The Air Deccan brand was revamped earlier to match Kingfisher colours after UB Group bought a majority stake in the company.
