Sara Ali Khan is busy promoting two OTT releases, Murder Mubarak and Ae Watan Mere Watan. Sara is not only known for her stellar acting prowess but also for maintaining a ‘humble’ impression, ditching designer dresses for kurtis at the airport and showing up with oiled hair. Recently, while promoting her two films, she spoke about wanting to make her family proud.
Sara told Pinkvilla, “Making my mother proud is a very integral part of my life’s goal, inspiring my brother to some degree, I’m his elder sister. Like he looks at me after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and says ‘Aapa jaan I’m proud of you’ or whenever he says ‘That’s my sister’s song’. Ultimately after this trailer (of Ae Watan Mere Watan) when I got to watch this trailer alone, when I see myself in a film like this, that feeling is a validation that I have never felt before.”
The actress added, “I got lucky, to be honest. Simmba aur Kedarnath k baad pehle hi janta ka pyaar mil gaya tha. To woh validation ke liye ab main bhookhi ho gayi hoon kyuki then I lost it in the middle (After Simmba and Kedarnath I got the audience’s love quite early. But I lost it in the middle so I’m hungry for the same now). But the validation I never got is my own and I am getting it now.”
In a recent interview, Sara was asked about her aim in life to which she replied, “I want to be the better version of myself every day. I just genuinely feel that you should love and allow yourself to breathe, something different starts happening. I have always been a secure person, but I am not that over-the-top self-less kind of a person. Finally, I am reaching the stage, where I am genuinely happy for people being around me and it comes from genuine gratitude for whatever it is we have. Everybody asks for your aim but no one sees where you come from. I am living my dream and I want to feel it. I have two outstanding trailers on the internet and two of my films are releasing this month. The last time I felt this was in December 2018 and now I feel that way again.”
Meanwhile, as Ae Watan Mere Watan awaits its release, Murder Mubarak has already been released on Netflix. The murder mystery boasts of an ensemble cast including Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Suhail Nayyar and Aashim Gulati.
