Shahid Kapoor will be seen performing at the Women’s Premier League aka WPL 2024 opening ceremony along with Shah Rukh Khan and other Bollywood stars. The actor has already landed in Bengaluru and was seen rehearsing for his performance on Thursday night alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Sidharth Malhotra. In a video shared by WPL on Instagram, the Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya actor was seen on the ground seated on a bike. The glimpse hinted that Shahid will be making a grand entry on a bike.
Besides a glimpse of his performance, Shahid also praised the WPL initiative. “I love cricket as a sport. I wanted to be a cricketer when I was a kid. Whenever I come to a stadium, I am full of excitement. I am like a little kid who gets a chance to enter the candy store so it’s just great to be here. This is such a fantastic initiative. It’s great to see all the women, they are such amazing atheletes and they deserve the best opportunities and this is a great platform for them,” he said.
He also spoke about his daughter Misha’s love for cricket. He said, “I have a daughter and she used to wonder whether women play cricket as well because she is very sporty and my son likes to play cricket. She wanted to compete with him and I showed her some of the matches and told her girls can play cricket and they are great at playing cricket so yeah, I am very happy the league has finally come up. Like I sit with my son and daughter for IPL, we’ll be sitting for WPL as well.”
On the work front, Shahid Kapoor is currently basking in the success of Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya with Kriti Sanon. After registering a decent start at the box office, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya has crossed Rs 50 crore at the box office.
