Bengaluru-based EV startup Ather Energy has started the production of its much anticipated Ather Rizta electric scooter.

As per reports, the deliveries are expected to begin in July, marking an important milestone for the company.

The Rizta, which was introduced in April this year, is available in two variants: S and Z. The price range for the Ather Rizta models starts at Rs 1.1 lakh (ex-showroom).

Ather Rizta Electric Scooter: Features

The scooter is available with two different battery types. The base S model has a 2.9 kWh battery pack that provides a range of 105 kilometres on a single charge. The Rizta Z model comes with either a 2.9 kWh or a 3.7 kWh battery, with the latter boasting a range of 159 kilometres.

The Ather Rizta is powered by a PMS electric motor mounted on the frame and claims to sprint from zero to 40 kmph in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 80 kmph. The Ather Rizta comes equipped with a TFT touch-enabled digital instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone connectivity, a mono-LED headlamp, LED tail lights, and 12-inch alloy wheels.

In addition, the Rizta models come with a 34-litre under-seat storage capacity and a 22-litre flexible frunk as an optional feature from the manufacturer. With its sporty 450 series doing so well, the firm has now focused on the family scooter market, which is a bigger one.

The Ather Rizta is inspired by the 450 Series, however, it is created on a whole new platform with a very distinct design. The Rizta competes with electric scooters like the TVS iQube and Ola S1 Air, as well as petrol-powered models such as the Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter.

The Rizta Z with the 2.9 kWh battery is available for Rs 1,24,999, while the base S variant costs Rs 1,09,999. All prices are ex-showroom for the top-tier Rizta Z with the 3.7 kWh battery pack, which comes in at Rs 1,44,999.
