The first official teaser image of the upcoming 2018 all-new Rolls-Royce Phantom super-luxury limo is out. The uber-luxury sedan will make its world debut on July 27th, 2017 in London. As per the designer of Rolls-Royce, Giles Taylor, Phantom will not follow a revolutionary design language, but will stick to the evolutionary design language, making it look more matured and bolder.
According to Giles, you can’t fiddle with the design of a legendary product like Phantom and the new teaser clearly gives away the fact that the new Phantom will not be something different in terms of the design. In case you want a bolder, revolutionary Rolls-Royce product, you have to wait for the Cullinan SUV, as per Giles.
The teaser image of the new Phantom shows the reworked headlights, which now gets LED treatment. The headlights are also ultra-crisp and very distinctive now, helping make the new Phantom stand out more than ever before.
The front end will be reworked too, and going by the teaser image, we hope to see a more clean and tidy front end, which minimizes some of the clutter of the outgoing car. To compensate and hide the elongated length, the square corners have been chamfered-off.
The weight has been reduced too, and underneath the new platform is a further-stretched version of the high-tech architecture from the BMW 7 Series. The powertrain remains the same 6.75-litre V12 turbo engine, and we expect a hybrid version too.
We'll bring you more of the Rolls-Royce Phantom details, as and when they are revealed.
