A man from the US state of Florida was captured on his home’s doorbell camera admitting to his wife that he fatally shot their 22-year-old son during a heated argument, according to footage obtained by Local News 10.
David Contreras confessed to the shooting of his son, Eric, in their Miami residence last November. In a newly released video, Contreras, 52, was heard saying, “He’s not breathing. He’s dead,” just moments after the incident. In the footage, Contreras is seen crouching on the ground, visibly distressed.

‘Please call my brother’
In the video, he pleaded with his wife, “It’s not your fault. Please call my brother.” Contreras called 911, confessing, “I just shot my son.” Eric, a student at Florida International University, was found dead from gunshot wounds, the New York Post reported.
Contreras pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder during his November arraignment. The exact sequence of events leading to the tragic shooting remains unclear. Contreras is currently held without bond until his next court hearing scheduled for March 11. It remains unclear precisely how the altercation between the father and son escalated to gunfire.
Last year, the United States surpassed 400 mass shootings, setting the stage for a record-breaking year in gun violence. A mass shooting is defined as an incident in which at least four people are shot, excluding the shooter. Scores of lesser shooting events occur daily in the US.
