Woman’s Itchy Ear Leads To A Shocking Discovery
With the help of a Smartbud, a gadget for cleaning ears with a camera, Lucy Wild decided to figure out what was going on.

A 29-year-old woman from UK’s Cheshire, Lucy Wild, discovered a spider nursery thriving within the confines of her ear canal, highlighting the nightmarish experience of waking up to a crackling sound only to realise it was a brood of eight-legged invaders making her ear their home.

Wild, a mother of three, at first thought the weird feeling in her ear was just a little bothersome. But with the help of a Smartbud, a gadget for cleaning ears with a camera, she decided to figure out what was going on. Turns out, the unsettling truth was that a spider had somehow gotten into her ear.

Describing the experience to The Mirror, Wild stated, “It was like something out of Stranger Things. It looked like you were going into the upside down.”

Expressing her confusion and fear, she pondered how a spider could enter her ear without her knowledge, leaving her petrified at the thought of another invasion.

Panicking, Wild sought assistance, opting for a remedy involving warm olive oil and reaching out to the emergency services in the UK. Despite successfully removing the arachnid, her sense of relief was brief. A later episode of ear pain led her to conduct a second examination with the Smartbud, exposing a mysterious black mass within her ear.

The situation took a horrifying turn when a visit to the hospital’s ear, nose, and throat department delivered a spine-chilling diagnosis: a spider’s nest had taken place. The disclosure left both Wild and healthcare professionals in a state of astonishment.

Recounting the doctor’s reaction, Wild said, “At the appointment as soon as he saw the video and looked inside my ear, he said he’d never seen it before.”

The process of removing the spider’s nest proved to be a nightmarish ordeal for Wild. The process of suctioning the inside of her ear turned into an agonizing procedure, and Wild expressed it as the “most excruciating pain” she had ever experienced. The intensity of the pain led her to vomit during the process.

“I’d rather go through childbirth or a c-section again,” she said.

Even though the procedure seemed successful, Wild couldn’t shake the fear that hidden horrors might still be lingering within her ear. Now, having lived through this traumatic experience, Wild advocates for vigilance in ear health and recommends investing in tools like Smartbud for regular monitoring.
