Pregnancy is a very important phase in a woman’s life. But sometimes they go through various complications during this crucial period. Recently, a similar incident went viral. It is difficult to understand in the beginning, but everything becomes clear in a short while. The woman is holding a tiny baby in her palm. Then, after placing the baby in a cot, she spreads a towel and is seen wrapping him in it. When she picks up the baby and places him on the towel, the baby’s hands are seen moving.
The child’s face is not visible in the video, but according to the caption, it is a 5-month-old newborn. But this child has not been kept in an incubator, so its authenticity also comes under question. “20 weeks or 5 months old premature baby super liit pala k@k@t@k0t hawakan,” reads the caption. A child born before the 37th week of pregnancy is known as a premature baby. Preterm labour complicates 5-10 per cent of pregnancies and is a leading cause of perinatal morbidity and mortality. Dr Loveleena Nadir, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Rosewalk Healthcare, Delhi, shared the following tips to prevent preterm birth:
1. Avoid smoking, as it can increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome.
2. Avoid alcohol and drugs. There is no safe limit on alcohol during pregnancy.
3. Get a healthy weight before pregnancy.
4. Gain the right amount of weight during pregnancy.
5. Doctors may advise progesterone supplements or do a cervical cerclage if the need arises.
