In the chaotic kitchen of the internet, the culinary experimentation knows no boundaries often leaving the taste of the food dangling by a thread. It’s now too common to stumble upon videos that can leave your taste buds bewildered and your stomach churning. The latest spectacle to capture attention is a video featuring a very unique yet baffling drink combination – Sprite mixed with curry powder. Yes, you read that right!
The video shared by the Singaporean popular digital content creator Calvin Lee features him trying Sprite mixed with curry powder. The clip kicks off with Lee mixing the meat curry powder into the Sprite, thoroughly incorporating it into the soft drink. He then takes an unconventional step of microwaving the combination to allow the flavours to fully meld. However, as he takes on the first sip, he is seen visibly disgusted with the taste. Overlaying text appearing on the video stated, “The curry powder & sprite do not mix well. A very uncomfortable flavour. Don’t try.”

“Note to self: think before you act next time. Or use a milk-based drink next time cause Curry Sprite doesn’t work,” the caption accompanying the video reads. Since its online debut, the video has amassed over 296,000 views online and a variety of reactions from online users.
“The bubbles were a dead giveaway but yes, a milk based drink would be a good idea….like chocolate milk and curry,” one user remarked.
Another user chimed in with the touch of humor, saying, “The bubbles had me wondering if it’s a friggin witch’s brew but then you microwaved it and made it worse.”
“Please don’t do that with my favourite soda I’m begging,” a comment read.
“You know, this is genuinely the first one that I actively thought would be bad from just the ingredients,” a person jokingly wrote.
Amidst the chaos of failed flavour experiments, some users offered their culinary suggestions. “Curry powder (a bit) on top of ice cream. Chocolate, vanilla and coconut flavours should work well,” one user suggested.
Another commenter wrote, “Curry and lime juice would’ve been better, the sugar and bubbles in Sprite messed it up I guess.”
This is not the first time Lee has caught attention for his daring flavour experiments. In another viral video, he takes on the challenge of tasting bubble tea mixed with tuna. This peculiar combination garnered a staggering 4.6 million views online.
