Optical Illusion: Can You Find The Broom In This Pile Clothes In A Minute?
Hammonds Fitted Furniture company says that the longer you stare at the picture, the harder it will be to find the broom.

Brain teasers that keep you challenged can increase cognitive function. It enhances your problem-solving skills by boosting your critical thinking to find new solutions to problems. Studies have shown that the right side of the brain is usually involved in emotions while the left side tends to be more active in visually-based languages and speech production, however, it is believed that during brain teasers, both sides of our brain work at the same time. Hence, to challenge our observational skills, Hammonds Fitted Furniture has presented a new brain teaser asking people to find a broom amid a pile of colourful clothes. It has been claimed that one-third of people can’t find the broom while others locate it within seconds. The company says that the longer you stare at the picture, the harder it will be to find the broom.

There is a broom hidden in the pile of clothes like floral printed skirts, shirts, orange T-shirts, brown belts, purple shirts, and various other vibrant colour attires. With only a minute as a deadline, if you can’t find the broom in the image then don’t feel dismayed. Keep the limitation of time aside and carefully look at the photo.

If you cannot find the broom then you must change your thinking. While some brain teasers test your lateral and mathematical thinking skills, others like the ‘Find the Broom’ brain teaser hone your observational skills. Take a closer look at the left side of the photo. You will be able to notice an orange broom lying above the floral-printed orange skirt. Due to the colour of the broom and skirt, locating a matching item with clothes becomes difficult. This is one of the problems in locating the said item faced by the viewers.

These types of puzzles increase the functioning of the prefrontal cortex, which controls cognitive abilities including thinking, decision-making, concentration and problem-solving. While solving a brain teaser, our body releases dopamine which regulates memory, concentration and mood each time you solve a puzzle.

According to Progress Lifeline, ‘Working on such puzzles strengthens the connections between brain cells, improves mental speed and is an effective way to improve memory.’
