Virender Sehwag’s aggressive approach, whether on the field or off it, is a familiar sight for anyone acquainted with the cricketer’s playing style and dominance. When it comes to being unabashedly authentic in conversations, the former Indian opener stands out. This was unmistakably evident in a recent behind-the-scenes sneak peek of the upcoming DP World ILT20, where cricket enthusiasts were treated to a spectacle of humour and banter as cricket legends Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Harbhajan Singh, Shoaib Akhtar, and Sehwag came together on the commentary panel, as announced by ZEE Entertainment.
In the now-viral video announcement, all five of them engaged in friendly banter, taking playful shots at each other. Akhtar initiated the conversation by humourously referring to Sehwag as a “gentle off-spinner.” Akhtar continued, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Veeru. The last time the three of us (Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Akhtar) were playing, you were cleaning your spectacles on the field.”
In response, Sehwag, renowned for his aggressive batting as an opener, quipped, “I wear contact lenses now… to look at your beautiful face.”
