Lebanese Journalist Breaks Down On Live TV After Hearing Of Hassan Nasrallah's Death In Israeli Strike | Video

A South Lebanon native journalist broke down in tears during a live television interview after hearing the death news of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in Israeli air strikes on Lebanon’s Beirut.

The Lebanese journalist, before breaking down on hearing the Hezbollah leader’s death news, was elaborating her views on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

“Imagine if the Russian President Vladimir Putin is at the UNGA event and announces a targeted attack in the capital of Ukraine, all hell would have broken. Now, remember what Netanyahu did at UNGA in New York,” said Marwa Oswan in an interview with RT television news network.

What Netanyahu Said At UNGA?

Benjamin Netanyahu shrugged off global appeals for a ceasefire in a defiant speech to the United Nations. Presenting his country as a champion of peace and prosperity for the Middle East, Netanyahu vowed to continue the ongoing campaign against the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

Addressing the general assembly in New York, Israel’s prime minister said, “We will continue degrading Hezbollah.” Many national delegations had walked out in protest when Netanyahu took the podium.

Soon after his speech concluded, massive explosions ripped through Beirut, reducing several residences to rubble, in an attempt to assassinate Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Later, the Hezbollah group confirmed his death.

Israel Pounds Beirut

The strikes that killed Nasrallah on Friday targeted a densely populated area and destroyed residential buildings. Israel carried out more strikes Saturday on what it says are Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, killing at least 33 people and wounding 195, according to the country’s health ministry.

A top Hezbollah leader was killed in a targeted airstrike by Israel in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Saturday, just a day after a strike in the area killed Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it “eliminated” Hassan Khalil Yassin, who led a unit in Hezbollah’s intelligence division responsible for identifying Israeli military and civilian targets, according to the Times of Israel.
