Internet Reacts To CLAT Ad Mocking NEET Results: 'Paisa Nahi Rukna Chahiye'
Rather than studying for the NEET, newspaper advertising encourages candidates to take the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

On June 4, the National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the NEET exam results. Many students discovered disparities between their grades shortly after the results were released. In the NEET 2024 test, 67 individuals received a perfect score of 720, although some students also received 718 and 719 marks, which cannot be achieved according to the NEET exam’s grading system. Medical students are now demanding that the NEET UG 2024 be cancelled since they are dissatisfied with their results. In addition, a lot of people desire to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the situation.

Several students who were not on the cutoff list are now expected to be seeking other career paths. For other pupils, it would mean sacrificing their dreams. But that’s when capitalism gets involved. What could be more advantageous than making the most of dire circumstances?

Social media users are sharing an advertisement that criticises the NEET test. Rather than studying for the NEET, newspaper advertising encourages candidates to take the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

The ad reads, “Disappointed with NEET results? Think beyond NEET, IIT-JEE. Think CLAT! 5 year law from NLU’s.”

The post had over 1 lakh views on the social media platform at the time of reporting.

The comments section criticised the apparent capitalistic nature of the ad.

A user said, “Capitalism is peaking. Last time a shaving blade company tried to capitalise on young topper’s looks.”

Another user said, “Kuch bhi ho. Paisa nahi rukna chahiye. (No matter what happens, the money should keep flowing.)”

Yet another user stated, “Dusre ki aapada me khud ke liye awasar talaash liya inhone (They found an opportunity for themselves in someone else’s disaster.)”

Following the NEET 2024 grading system dispute, at least two petitions challenging the results have been filed in High Courts. According to the Indian Express, a plea requesting a retake of the test on the grounds that the test paper was leaked was filed with the Supreme Court on June 1.

Last month, the Supreme Court denied a similar motion to delay the publication of the results. In a notable incident, 44 of the 67 top scorers answered a basic physics question incorrectly but were still granted “grace marks” due to an error in a previous edition of the NCERT’s Class 12 textbook.

More than 13,000 applicants disputed the answer key, arguing that the textbook included material that pointed to an alternative answer, in response to a preliminary answer key that the NTA provided on May 29.

NTA stated in a press release that about 3 lakh more people than in 2023 took the test in 2024, adding that “the increase in candidates naturally led to an increase in high scorers due to a larger pool of candidates.”

Additionally, the NTA official stated that the 2024 NEET was “comparatively easier” than earlier exams, Indian Express reported.
