'Innocence At It's Best': Little Boy Confuses Man For 'Jesus' In This Hilarious Video
In the comments, many people mentioned how in similar instances, kids often mistake old men with beards as Santa Claus.

Children often exhibit innocence rather than having a deep understanding of real-life references and context. This innocence sometimes leads them to believe that mythical creatures, superheroes and other imaginary beings are real. The undated video shows a kid pointing to a man inside a mall and referring to him as “Jesus”. The kid’s caretakers had to clarify that the man is not Jesus, while the stranger walks away looking amused by the encounter.

The person recording the video is heard laughing in the background. It is unclear when and where this video was taken. It is likely that the kid confused the man with the long hair and fair skin as Jesus Christ because of the stereotypical depiction of Christ.

Commenting on this video many people wrote how the clip reminded them of their kids mistaking old men with white beards as Santa Claus. Making this point, an X user wrote, “Reminds me of my son. Every old dude with a white beard was Santa.”

Another person wrote, “There is that guy in my office who looks literally like Jesus and his smile and gestures are so innocent. One day when I saw him smoking and felt weird it was like Jesus you can’t smoke.” Someone else wrote, “My daughter saw a man with an eye patch when she was little, she said; “Mommy look, it’s a pirate”!” An Instagram user remarked, “The innocence of children is the best.”

Not all instances of kids mistaking real people for mythical figures are funny, some can also be embarrassing for the parents. An Instagram user recalled one such incident and wrote, “When my brother was very young, there was a family with achondroplasia that lived on our street who popped over once (I think it may have been Christmas) and he said “Hi Oompah loompa! You sing!” Thankfully they didn’t hear and my mum removed him from that room like a bolt of lightning! She was mortified!”

Someone else recalled, “One day, my son was waiting in the car with my husband while I was at the grocery store, and a Hispanic man was unloading his cart into his car. My son looked at him and said, “Look dad! It’s George Lopez!” We had to explain that not every Hispanic man was Mr. Lopez.”
