While childbirth is believed to be one of the most painful experiences that a woman undergoes physically, couples use the opportunity to capture the priceless moment of welcoming their child to the world. However, it is not every day that we see doctors clicking pictures or posing inside the labour rooms. A recent post shared by a gynecologist from an operation theatre has drawn the internet’s attention and received mixed reactions.
Dr Zikraaa took to her X handle and shared a post-delivery picture, showing her standing inside the operation theatre with a satisfying smile on her face. However, what caught the most attention was the doctor still dressed in a blood-stained apron and the pair of blood-soaked gloves in her hands.
“Baby cried, I laughed. PS: Post-Delivery Scenes #Obgyn,” she wrote in the caption.

The post instantly went viral, leaving social media users divided over her actions. While some expressed happiness over the picture, some questioned the ethical standpoint of clicking photos inside the operation theatre. A user wrote, “Good but focus on job not on social media posts .. especially in critical care units .. you just can’t take a chance for moment too,” while another commented, “I see the blood stained area of the forearm beyond gloves!”
“Beautiful feeling ever,” another user wrote, while someone questioned, “Is it allowed to post pictures on social media like this?”
Shared on June 16, 2024, the tweet has amassed over 80,000 views on the microblogging platform. While this particular incident merely reflects the doctor’s experience after a successful delivery, there have been instances where medical professionals willfully violated the norms of the hospital.
Doctors Perform Pre-Wedding Inside Operation Theatre
Earlier this year, a shocking video made the rounds on the internet where a couple carried out their pre-wedding shoot inside the operation theatre of a government hospital in Karnataka. Working on a contractual basis, while the doctor “performed” surgery on a patient, his fiancee assisted him in the procedure with medical instruments, professional lighting, and camerapersons around them.

In what appeared to be a mock surgery, the video went viral online and received widespread criticism. Later, the doctor was dismissed from service based on an order by Karnataka’s Health Minister, Dinesh Gundu Rao.
