Bengaluru is often a hot topic for its peculiarities and the unique experiences it offers, which frequently make waves on the internet. But does it truly stand out as much as some claim? Well, a recent incident involving a woman’s attempt to characterise a commonplace occurrence as exclusive to Bengaluru was met with a flood of sarcastic memes and jokes, revealing the exaggeration of the city’s uniqueness.
So, what did she share? Just a simple screenshot displaying four common cab booking apps installed on her phone—Ola, Uber, Rapido, and Namma Yatri. But isn’t this a common sight across the country (except Namma Yatri)? Absolutely.
As soon as the user @khushirajhere shared the screenshot with the caption, “Tell me that you live in Bangalore without telling me that you live in Bangalore,” humorous comments started rolling in.

“Scary to believe that she might have passed Class 10th and 12th,” joked one user. “Other metros and cities use bullock carts…” chimed in another, while a third remarked, “I have all of these and I don’t live in Bangalore.”
Then followed a barrage of memes poking fun at her perception of the rest of India as lacking taxis!

Yet, when it comes to taxis in Bengaluru, the conversation never dies down, thanks to its exorbitant prices, long wait times, and unconventional rides. A recent incident highlighted one such quirk when a woman questioned the justification of paying Rs. 2000 to a taxi driver after landing on a flight with a ticket worth Rs. 3500! This begged the question: which is the true luxury, the airplane or the cab?
