In recent months, Bengaluru has been making headlines for several reasons. From facing a severe water crisis last month to scorching heat and traffic congestion is a daily struggle for its residents. However, the recent rain brought little relief but it left many angered as many roads were blocked due to waterlogging. Despite numerous attempts by business personalities and citizens to offer solutions to these issues, city officials remain unbothered. Anant Sharma, co-founder of a Bengaluru-based company, recently started the debate on X after he criticized the city’s infrastructure, weather and water quality. He even questioned whether it was wise to consider relocating to cities like Mumbai or Pune, or even leaving the country.
The entrepreneur’s genuine concern garnered mixed responses from his followers. Some advised him to relocate if he can afford it and has reliable options, while others remained confident that Bengaluru will transform in the coming years. On the other hand, some individuals claimed that every city has their own set of problems and encouraged him to find solutions rather than run away. Sharma wrote, “Bangalore looks like it’s gonna go to the dogs in another 5 years with bad infra, bad weather and bad water. Is Mumbai or Pune worth shifting to or should I just leave India?”

One user suggested that if Anant Sharma is not from Karnataka, Mumbai could be a great alternative, as the city has a mixed population, and people of different backgrounds and languages are welcomed. The user even mentioned that transportation and access to beaches is easy in Mumbai.
If not a kannadiga .. Yes Mumbai is great choice ..1) More diversified crowd .. Not just Techies 2) Hindi or any language is welcomed 3) Better service from service providers like auto , maid etc .. less tanturms 4) Beaches ..

Another highlighted that every city has its own challenges and encourages to face the problem rather than flee and work towards finding solutions.
every cities have issues , stop running away and start owning the city …— Mukesh (@mikejava85) May 4, 2024
An individual believed that leaving Bengaluru might be a straightforward decision due to various challenges other than weather and water. The user suggested that if he can afford to leave, he can relocate.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but it's pretty straightforward now. It's not just about weather and water. There are many other indicators. If you can afford, leave. Period.— Satyajeet (@HeySisyphus) May 4, 2024
Another predicted Bengaluru’s future, claiming that it’ll become even bigger and better in five years, with improved infrastructure like the metro and rail systems.
So here's my prediction, Bangalore will be bigger and better in 5 years attracting even more engineering talent, better metro + Suburban rail, while people keep ranting about how it's going to go to dogs 5 years after that— Naveen Kumar Battula (@kaizoku156) May 4, 2024
One more added, “Leave India. All the cities are going through the same.”
