22-Year-Old Nigerian Sets World Record By Visiting 150 Fast Food Restaurants In 24 Hours
Munachimso Brian Nwana broke the previous record of visiting 100 restaurants in 24 hours set last year by American YouTuber Airrack.

A man’s passion for fast food led him to set a new world record for visiting the most fast-food restaurants in 24 hours. Munachimso Brian Nwana, a 22-year-old content creator and food consultant, visited 150 fast food outlets, breaking the previous record of 100 restaurants set last year by American YouTuber Airrack. Before that, TikTok stars Nick DiGiovanni and the late Lynn “Lynja” Davis held the record.

According to Guinness World Records (GWR), Nwana used “no forms of private transport” during his record attempt. Due to limited public transportation infrastructure in Abuja, Nwana completed his entire route on foot, covering a distance of over 25 kilometres.

As per GWR, to successfully achieve the record, Nwana had to purchase and consume at least one food or drink item at each restaurant, with the requirement that at least 75% of the orders are food.

Reflecting on the challenge, Nwana told GWR, “New York has clusters of restaurants and adequate public transportation systems, so doing this in Abuja was much more daunting and challenging.”

In the photos shared by GWR on Instagram, Nwana can be seen enjoying various fast foods at different fast-food restaurants. In one of the photos, he is even seen dining with a group of young boys.

For his record attempt, Nwana chose 5 PM as both his start and end time, taking a nine-hour break from midnight to 9 AM for sleep. He mentioned that he consumed “probably enough to last a week” and made sure to sample something from the most of the places he visited. The leftover food was shared among his team and public.

Nwana undertook this challenge to highlight Abuja’s restaurants and promote Nigerian cuisine.

While he enjoyed a variety of foods including shawarma, pizza, fried chicken and burgers, his favourite meals were traditional Nigerian delicacies such as moin moin (bean pudding) and àmàlà (a dough-like swallow food).

“This record goes to show that the Nigerian food space is worth paying attention to. I would like to encourage people from around the world to come and explore the Nigerian food space,” he said.

Many social media users flooded the comment section to praise Nwana for his record-breaking feat.

One user remarked, “Putting Nigerian food on the map, one bite at a time. Congratulations Brian Nwana.”

Another commented, “Okay. I like this particular challenge, not just because I love food but I also like my sleep time so, when I read that he had a 9-hour break to sleep, I smiled gracefully. Congratulations Brian.”
