New Delhi: Right before the Google I/O 2016 conference kick starts, Xiaomi Global VP Hugo Barra has announced that this year the China-based smartphone company will become part of the anticipated developers' conference.
In his tweet, Barra wrote, "Beyond thrilled to share that Xiaomi will be a part of Google I/O. A sneak peek of what you'll see from Mi at #io16."

The three-day developers conference will witness the official rollout of the latest Android N operating system along with updates on some of Google's old and new projects.
The teaser image shared by Barra does not reveal much other than what appear to be volume controllers and a camera ring. Now, this could either mean integration of the Google software into Xiaomi's new hardware - read a new phone (a Nexus?) or simply a collaboration between the two companies for an existing or new project.
What exactly Xiaomi and Google are up their sleeves will only be known once the executives take onstage during the event that runs from May 18-20.
