New Delhi: Twitter has rolled out a feature that makes it easier for users to report threatening tweets to the law enforcement agencies.
After filing a report, users are prompted an option on the last screen to receive a summary of their report through an email. Upon clicking the option, the user will get the entire set of threatening tweets and their URL along with the alleged abuser's Twitter username and URL and a timestamp.
It will also contain the reporting user's own account information and timestamp of filing the report.
The Twitter blog explained that the summary of the threat report will help users to easily file complaint to their local law agencies if they are concerned about their physical safety.
The microblogging site recently tweaked its usage guidelines and clearly warned users against posting revenge porn or related posts. Those found guilty of harassing other could face detention from the service.
