Instagram has released an updated version (v 8.2) of its iOS app. Among bug fixes and performance improvements, the company has introduced a new extension in the latest version of the app that lets iOS users post photos directly to Instagram.

Users now can directly post pictures and videos from Photos (or other iOS apps) to Instagram - without actually opening the app.

Users can also add a caption right there only. They, however, will have to open Instagram if they want to use filters or tag other users.

You can download the latest version of the app from here.
