Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is reportedly planning on releasing two new MacBook Pro laptops in the second half of 2021, according to a research note from known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The recent research note, obtained by MacRumours, says that the two new MacBook Pro models will be equipped with an HDMI port and an SD card reader. This comes in line with a Bloomberg report last month that also suggested the return of an SD card reder on the MacBook Pro this year.
Kuo had last month said that Apple is planning all-new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with several changes, including the return of a magnetic charging port, the removal of the touch bar, a new flat-edged design, and more. “Some of the practical changes for users include the addition of an SD card reader and HDMI port,” Kuo was quoted as saying in the research note. He also said that Taiwan’s Genesys Logic will be the exclusive supplier of the SD card reader for the 2021 MacBook Pro laptops.
Earlier this month, Kuo had predicted that the new Apple MacBook Pro models will cancel the curvy design of the existing models’ top and bottom parts and adopt a flat-edged design similar to the iPhone 12. Apple is reported to launch two MacBook Pro models this year – 14-inch and a 16-inch model. Both the laptops are expected to come with a version of Apple’s in-house M-series silicon chipsets, along with several other changes. Apple analyst Kuo had also predicted earlier that Apple will remove the touch bar on the MacBook Pro models this year, along with other changes.
