Apple Forced To Delay iOS 18 AI Update For iPhone Users: Here’s What We Know
Apple iOS 18 update release is going to happen during the iPhone 16 launch in September but the bigger AI features will be offered later.

Apple’s highly anticipated AI features are facing delay. New reports say that the company was likely to announce the iOS 18 AI features with the iPhone 16 series in September. But now Apple Intelligence features will be only rolling out with the iOS 18.1 update that is expected to be offered in October this year.

The report from Bloomberg says the delay will basically help Apple to fix any bugs in the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 versions, done via the developer and the beta program over the next few weeks.

Apple Intelligence Delay For iPhone 16 – Does That Matter?

Apple has seen its rivals Google and Microsoft race far ahead with their AI tools and features. iOS 18 was demoed at the WWDC 2024 in June and the world got a closer look at the potential of Apple Intelligence or AI from the company.

AI features have been lauded and criticised in equal measures, and both Google-Microsoft have faced the ire of the public and critics. Apple will surely want to avoid major lapses at its end, and ensure the AI is not only accurate but also preserve its promise of keeping the data secure.

Going by the recent events, it is better that Apple delays the AI update for iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 rather than go ahead with a half-baked update that brings more problems for the company than get people excited for the future.

Having said that, we will know more about the quality and the performance of these AI features when the iOS 18 developer version is released in the next few days, and after that more iPhone users get a preview with the beta version.
