Urvashi Rautela is among the most popular actresses in Bollywood. Over the years, she has been able to make a name for herself in the entertainment world through her exciting performances and jaw-dropping looks. She has a great social media presence as well, and she has been able to garner a lot of love from the audience. Apart from that, she has worked in many regional films as well. Now, Urvashi is all set to star in her upcoming film, Jahangir National University (JNU).
As per reports, the film has taken inspiration from the infamous events at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. During the promotion of the film, the actress talked about her experience, and how she has been able to fulfil her father’s dream by being a part of the project.
Urvashi Rautela shared that her father always wanted her to study at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) since she was in school. The actress will be seen playing the role of a student at the university, who faces challenges and gets involved in college politics. Talking about her role in the film, the actress said, “I play a JNU student in the film. Actually, in real life, my father, since my school days, wanted me to be at JNU. So it’s like a dream coming true, though on screen.
“The film talks about how within the sanctum of education lies a concern, where some perceive a conspiracy to disrupt our nation’s unity,” Urvashi said. The actress also said that there have been various incidents in recent times where, in the name of educational institutions, many fragments have been formed that actively involve themselves in disrupting the unity of the nation.
JNU is directed by Vinay Sharma. Apart from Urvashi Rautela, it also features an ensemble of talented actors, including Siddharth Bodke, Piyush Mishra, Ravi Kishan, Vijay Raaz, Rashmi Desai, Atul Pandey and Sonnalli Seygall. It is all set to hit theatres on April 5.
