New Delhi: In a sign of dissent in Uttarakhand Congress over the choice of chief minister, Congress MP Pradeep Tamta on Tuesday said that Harish Rawat's supporters would not tolerate the injustice done to their leader.
Tamta, an MP from Almora and a Harish Rawat loyalist, said, "till injustice done to Harish Rawat is not undone, our fight will continue."
"Earlier, we were given an impression that the chief minister was being chosen from amongst the MLAs. Harish has been sidelined and now a person is taking oath. Who has taken only one MLA to Sonia Gandhi's house? We cannot be blackmailed," he said.
The Congress MP also said that this was not the first time that the party high command took a wrong decision. "In 2002 also Congress won under Harish Rawat's leadership. Then ND Tiwari was made the chief minister. We will not tolerate this. Harish Rawat was people's first choice."
Tamta also denied that Rawat has met BJP president Nitin Gadkari.
