New Delhi: The BJP on Thursday held the UPA's policies responsible for Delhi High Court blast, saying that a message has gone to terrorists both inside and outside the country and that India is a "soft" state.
"After every big terrorist incident, the UPA government repeats its previous statement that we will fight terrorism.
We will not tolerate terrorism. When Manmohan Singh and P Chidambaram give statements like this, people of the country are ashamed," BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said.
Addressing workers of the youth wing of the Delhi BJP who staged a demonstration at Jantar Mantar to protest against the blast, Naidu said even after their pledge to fight terror, such incidents take place and statements like these are heard again like worn out audio tapes being played repeatedly.
BJP state president Vijender Gupta said the people of Delhi and the rest of the country are in no mood to tolerate any more terrorism and asked them to put up a united fight against it in the manner they had united against corruption.
"In May 2011, a bomb blast had occurred at Gate No 7 of Delhi High Court. At that time Chidambaram had said that CCTV cameras will be installed at every sensitive and busy areas of Delhi very shortly.
"Had he been able to fulfil his promise then the faces of the terrorists who killed 12 persons and injured 90 people at Gate No 5 could have been captured. They could be sternly punished," he said.
