UP: Akhilesh gives away Nano cars at school games
The UP Chief Minister also awarded Rs 21,000 each to 18 players and felicitated international player Arti Yadav with a car.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced Nano cars for the winners of the National School Games that are being held in Etawah. Akhilesh pledged the cars for the 10 best athletes while his father, Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has also announced a cash reward of Rs 21,000 for star performers.

Among those who have struck lucky are runners Anjana Thamke of Maharashtra and Chitra PU of Kerala. Other winners at the meet have also been awarded with vouchers that can be exchanged for bicycles.

Akhilesh on Sunday said that the state was always ready to host national sports tournaments and promote talented sportspersons. At the closing ceremony of the 58th National School Athletics and Wrestling Tournament at Sefai, Akhilesh said that budding talent emerges from these events that improves the performance of national team in Olympics and Asian Games.

Akhilesh also announced a grant of Rs 1 crore for purchase of new equipments to provide better practice facilities to talented players of gymnastics. He awarded Rs 21,000 each to 18 players, who set new records in different fields and felicitated international player Arti Yadav with a car.
