Tibetans protest Chinese Foreign Minister's visit to India
This is the first meeting between Indian, Chinese ministers after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power.

New Delhi: Chinese Foreign Minister's visit to India has sparked protests amongst Tibetan community in the national capital.

China's Wang Yi arrives on Sunday for a two-day visit during which he will meet Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The protestors are urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss Tibet with China.

Tibetans are holding protests at various places in Delhi including Chanakyapuri, the hub of embassies and Majnu Ka Tila, which is home to the Tibetans.

A Tibetan organisation has also written to PM Modi to take up the Tibet issue with Chinese Minister. The Tibetan Women's Association (TWA) said it would like to contest a recent statement made by Chinese foreign ministry Spokesman Hong Lei that "The door for contact is open but I want to stress that we only talk with the personal envoy of the Dalai (Lama) and we will only talk about the future of the Dalai not anything about Tibet".

What's your reaction?
