Midnapore: Former CPI (M) minister Sushanta Ghosh, arrested in connection with the skeleton recovery case, got no relief from a local court on Monday which rejected his bail plea and extended his judicial custody by 14 days.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Manoj Rai rejected his bail prayer along with six others accused in the case.

Another accused Baidyanath Santra, arrested on September 1 from Piyasala village, recorded his statement in the court and has been sent to eight days judicial remand.

Seven skeletons were dug up from a pit near Ghosh's ancestral house in Benachapra village in West Midnapore district on June 2 leading to his arrest by the CID on August 11 after the DNA of two of them matched the missing Trinamool
