New Delhi: He is accused of siphoning of hundreds of crores from the state exchequer but chief minister BS Yeddyurappa claims that he doesn't even own a car.
The chief minister who has been involved in one graft charge after another declared his assets on Sunday to the public.
According to the details given by the chief minister, he owns only 19 acres of agricultural land, even though he has been accused of grabbing thousands of acres. Yeddyurappa has only Rs 34 lakh in his bank account.
In his declaration on Sunday, he says he doesn't own any car because he sold his Contessa and Scorpio last year.
Yeddyurappa also has 2.6 kilos of gold which comes to Rs 49 lakh at current market rates and 76 kilograms of silver.
He has also declared that he owns only three residential properties across Karnataka and he only has 320 shares in three companies in the stock market.
But the opposition is clearly not impressed with this - they claim that by not declaring the assets owned by his family, the chief minister is still hiding the truth from the public.
G Parameshwar, KPCC President said, "This is just another way to fool the public again."
The CM may say he doesn't own a car and that he has only Rs 34 lakh in his bank account but the question is will such publicity stunts help BS Yeddyurappa improve his image in front of the people of Karnataka.
