Ruling parties in all states, UT will lose: BJP
BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said the ruling parties in four poll bound states and a union territory will lose.

Chennai: Pinpointing the anti-incumbency factor, senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said the ruling parties in four poll bound states and a union territory will lose power due to bad governance and "massive" corruption. "BJP will enter the assembly in all these states on its own and definitely better previous performance," Naidu told reporters here.

The seven basic requirements of power, road, irrigation and drinking water, education, health and employment were not met in these states even after 60 years of independence, Naidu alleged.

Flaying some regional parties in Tamil Nadu for promising freebies, he called it "deception, diversion, temptation and allurement." "You should give power 24/7 and then give them fans and mixies," he said.

Both ruling DMK and its bitter opponent AIADMK have tried to outdo each other, promising a slew of freebies including mixies, grinders and laptops in their election manifestos.

Congress, he alleged, was misusing the CBI, Governor in Karnataka H R Bhardwaj, pressuring the income tax department in selective raids and was silent on the charges against the National Human Rights Commission Chairman Justice K G

Balakrishnan.

Asked about the 2G spectrum scam, Naidu said it will have a bearing on the polls, as "Praja (people) will not forget Raja."
